Maria Alice Lopes

Maria Alice Lopes, age 89, of Lousan, Portugal, passed away on September 27th following a brief illness. She was born in Candal, Portugal on Aug. 5, 1929 to the late Manuel Henriques & Maria Da Nazare Henriques and wife of the late Americo Lopes. She lived in Danbury, CT from 1963 to 1980 when she and her husband retired back to Portugal. We are thankful to have made a trip in August to spend time with her; those memories will be forever cherished. She was the most loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that anyone could have asked for and will always be remembered for her devotion and unconditional love to her family. Maria Alice leaves a son, Henrique and his wife Rita; granddaughters, Dawn Lopes, Lori Kuzmanovic (Zeljko) and Melanie Lumelleau (Ryan) & great-grandchildren; Owen, Greyden, Emmitt Lumelleau, Ella & Milo Kuzmanovic all of Ridgefield; a sister, brother in law & several nephews both in the United States & Portugal; cousins & many dear friends. Maria Alice was predeceased by her husband Americo; a brother & his wife and a sister & her husband. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in her hometown.
