KidsPlay seeking corporate donations through tax credit program
TORRINGTON — Connecticut’s Department of Revenue Services has approved KidsPlay Children’s Museum’s Neighborhood Assistance Act Energy Efficiency project, Facility and Facade Upgrades for Energy Conservation. The Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) Tax Credit Program is designed to provide funding for tax-exempt organizations by providing a corporation business tax credit for businesses that make cash contributions to approved projects.
KidsPlay Children’s Museum is currently seeking corporate donations through this tax credit program for the energy conservation work associated with the renovation and integration of the newly acquired 57 Main St. into the Museum’s interactive exhibit galleries. These donations will also be matched dollar-fordollar by a local foundation doubling the impact of the investment.
KidsPlay will use the funds for critical energy conservation improvements, including installation of new energy-efficient storefront windows, insulation, and HVAC, and an LED lighting upgrade.
When complete, the Museum will have increased gallery space by 60 percent, allowing even more families to benefit from informal learning and contributing to Torrington’s economic redevelopment as a center for arts, culture, and education.
