Terence Donald Rickert of Danbury passed away on December 11, 2020 in Fort Myers, Florida. Terry was born in Danbury to Donald Wood Rickert and Mary Esposito Rickert on December 1, 1945. He attended Danbury schools and graduated from Naugatuck Valley Community College. He worked as a salesman for many years. Terry was a veteran of and served in the U.S. Navy assigned to the Naval Security Group, an arm of the National Security Agency, aboard the USS Jamestown, AGTR-3, and a cold war spy ship. He continued his military career in the U.S. Marine Corps and was recalled to active duty during Operation Desert Storm. During his service to his country, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expedition­ary Service Medal, the U.S. Navy Good Conduct Medal, the U.S.

Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal and the Marine Corps Rifle Sharpshoot­er Award. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Hat City Detachment, the Catholic War Veterans, the American Legion and the Elks Lodge. His parents Donald and Mary predecease­d him. He is survived by his brother Barry and wife Judy, nephews Barry and wife Jessica, Bryan and wife Victoria, Brendan and wife Julianne, as well as four great nieces, his uncle John Esposito and numerous cousins also survive him. Funeral services will be held at the convenienc­e of the family. Memorials in his name may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project.org.
