Maria M. DeLurdes

Maria M. DeLurdes passed away peacefully on December 31, 2020 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT. Maria was born on March 24, 1925 in Livramento, Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal to the late Antonio de Melo and Maria Laurentina. Wife of the late Carlos Pereira Mota.

Maria was well known for her love of cooking and cherished gatherings where she took pride in feeding her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Maria is survived by four beloved children: son Luis Mota (wife Connie), son Carlos Pereira, daughter Maria de Carmo, and daughter Natalia Mota. Three siblings: sister Joana de Melo, sister Maria Santa de Melo, and brother Antonio de Melo Junior. Beloved grandsons, Michael Mota and Andrew Mota. Great grandchildren: Kassandra, Nicholas, Alexia, and Logan Mota. As well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren in Canada, Azores, and England.

Maria is predeceased by seven children: son Lionel Mota, son João Mota, son Agostinho Mota, daughter Adelinha Mota, son Jose Fransico Mota, son Mario Jorge de Melo Mota, and son Silveste Mota. As well as three brothers: Manuel de Melo, Gil de Melo, and Arnaldo de Melo.

A Private Visitation will be held by the family, however, you may join the live stream of the visitation on Saturday January

9, 2021 from 9 to 10:30 am with a Memorial Mass to be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish

(149 Deer Hill Ave, Danbury CT 06810) at 11 am. Burial to follow at Wooster Cemetery in Danbury CT.

Due to Covid-19 regulations, the church is only able to admit

32 people. If you are not able to attend the church services, you are welcome to join the family at the graveside service. Please arrive to the church for 11:30 a.m. to join the procession or you may meet at Wooster Cemetery
