A look at some of the key numbers from UConn’s 74-66 loss at Creighton on Saturday:

13

Freshman Adama Sanogo’s career-high points total, and his second consecutive game scoring in double figures.

Sanogo did commit five turnovers, most of them on traveling calls.

“He didn’t play a great game,” coach Dan Hurley said. “He obviously got off to a really bad start (on Saturday), then he was able to put that behind him and be our most reliable player right now.”

And that raises some concern for the coach.

“I thought Adama was gonna be special,” Hurley said. “But if you had said to me before the season that Adama’s gonna be our most reliable player, I’d say we have some issues.”

18Hurley

didn’t want his team to be “outtoughed” for a second straight game, and the Huskies followed through. Best evidence was their work on the boards, grabbing 42 — including 18 offensive rebounds, their most in a Big East game yet this season.

UConn grabbed 42 rebounds overall. It’s the seventh time the Huskies have either snared 41, 42 or 43 rebounds in a game this season. Kinda unique.

MINUS-3

Tyler Polley’s game score, an analytic measuring productivity, on a scale of 0-40. Polley went scoreless, missing all four of his shots (all 3-pointers) in 17 minutes. He also allowed 7.1 points, according to the analytics, giving him minus-7.1 game points — second-worst on the Huskies to Tyrese Martin (minus-7.4 in 33 minutes).

67 PERCENT

Creighton shot just 30 percent on 3pointers and 62.5 percent from the foul line, but made 18 of 27 (67 percent) 2-pointers. The Huskies, particularly in the second half, simply couldn’t stop the Bluejays from taking it to the hole.

Meanwhile …

40 PERCENT

… UConn was a mere 16 for 40 (40 percent) on 2-pointers. The Huskies missed a bunch of bunnies from within 6 feet — a problem that has plagued them for much of this season.
