August 19, 1939 - March 20,

2021 Our beloved mother, Rosalie Danise, passed away peacefully at her home on March

20. She was 81 years old. Mom was born August

19,1939 in Danbury, Ct. She was the daughter of Vincent Danise and Kathleen (Hobby) Danise. She married our father, Michael Duhan, in 1957 and they later divorced.

Mom is survived by her three daughters, Valerie Loormann of Gaylordsville, CT, Kim Duhan of Westfield, NC and Michele Gilbert of Lowell, IN; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sister Janet Beck of Groton, CT, brother Fred Danise of San Diego, CA, brother Vincent Danise of Gloversville, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mom was pre-deceased by her brother, Robert Danise.

Mom loved her family. For her, there was no greater joy than being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their visits were what she so looked forward to. Holidays, birthdays or just because I love you visits; how she looked forward to them all. Family, she said, was a precious gift to be treasured and cherished.

Mom was always up for a challenge and there was nothing she wouldn’t try or do, even in her later years. Her stamina was to be envied, leaving everyone else in her dust. Her very favorite phrase was “Road Trip” and from our early childhood we’d sing as we went along.. “We gotta get going, where we going, what are we gonna do, we’re on our way to somewhere the three of us and you...” at the top of our lungs.

Mom was very patriotic and loved her country dearly. She attended every Memorial Day parade, waving her little flag with pride.

Mom also loved New Milford, choosing this as the only town she wanted to live in. As a lifelong resident, she knew most of the roads and loved to say “I remember when that...”

Mom volunteered at the hospital, giving back to the community she loved. She was excited to get this years’ park pass, Lynn Deming being her favorite.

Mom was the glue that holds our family together. Her absence surrounds us and there is a void that nothing will ever fill. She was loved dearly and is missed horribly.

We love you, mom... In keeping with mom’s wishes, there will not be any services. Her ashes will be spread at the place where she found the most peace, when all of her grandchildren can be present.

In lieu of flowers please hug the ones that you love and tell them that you love them. Invite your loved ones to dinner, reach out and call an old friend. We are not promised tomorrow but often don’t realize it until it’s too late...
