Eleanor (Ellie) M. Thompson, 97, of New Fairfield, the wife of the late Ralph Thompson, died on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Regional Hospice & Palliative Center of Danbury.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Danbury, November 16, 1923, to the late John and Anna (Beschle) Lane. She attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School. A lifelong area resident, Ellie was an avid gardener assisting in creating and maintainin­g area botanical gardens. She found pleasure by spending time at the beach, especially on Cape Cod and the Outer Banks. She enjoyed the time spent with her children, grandchild­ren, and most especially her great-grandchild­ren. Ellie was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Church of New Fairfield. She is survived by a daughter, Judith A. Thompson with whom she made her home of New Fairfield; a son, Robert Thompson and his wife, Karen of Pawling, NY; a sister, Joan White of Wilton, CT; five grandchild­ren, Gabriela Romandi, Jesse Thompson, Carlye Homan, Kristina Thompson, and Michael Thompson; seven greatgrand­children and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs.

Thompson was predecease­d by a son, Daniel Thompson, and by five sisters, Helen Wayman, Margaret Kolpa, Ann Ballwig, Dorothy Hamilton, and Theresa Gleissner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 21 Brush Hill Road, New Fairfield, CT. Interment will follow at the direction of the family. There will be no calling hours.
