Paul Philip Casey, 40, of Durham, CT, unexpected­ly passed away at Danbury Hospital on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Paul was a devoted father to his daughter, Chelsea Madison Casey; and loving husband of 13 years to Maria Casey.

Paul was born in Danbury on April 6 1982, and was son of Calvert and Arlene Casey of Bethel, CT; as well as a brother to Calvert Casey Jr.

Paul was proud to serve his country in the United States Marine Corp. He did one tour in Haiti and one tour in Iraq. He was a fire team leader, and to this day, his fellow Marines credit Paul with brining their group back with no casualties. He would continue to make sure everyone stayed in touch after their time in service.

Paul graduated CCSU in 2010 and realized one of his dreams as a walk-on to a division 1 college basketball team. He was a very competitiv­e athlete. He enjoyed boxing, swimming, cycling, and running. He excelled in everything he did. Along with being a great athlete, many considered Paul one of the funniest people they ever met.

He was passionate about watching and discussing politics. In his profession­al life, he fulfilled the jobs as an Aerospace Engineer and Director of Quality Assurance.

He will be greatly missed and forever remembered as a Hero by numerous family members and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 13th at 10:30 am at Saint Coleman Church, 170 Hubbard Street, Middlefiel­d. Burial will follow in the Connecticu­t State Veteran Cemetery, Middletown with full military honors.

Calling hours are Thursday evening, May 12, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown.
