Arlene T. (Wilson) Kuderna, 72, of Newtown, cherished wife of 26 years to the late Leonard R. Kuderna, Jr., died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, June 25, 2022. She was born on August 17, 1949, in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Phil R. and Teresa (Darmanin) Wilson.

Arlene was a devoted mother and grandmother who adored her family. Her family and friends meant everything to her. She was happiest when spending time with them. She had an extremely generous heart, kind spirit, and priceless sense of humor. Arlene found joy in being of service to others. She spent time volunteering with the West Haven Junior Women’s Club, in particular the veterans of the blind unit at the West Haven VA Hospital. She was proud to have worked for several years as a Veterinary Technician and continued to share her gifts and wisdom of animal medicine to all around her. She enjoyed gardening and completing home projects. She shared her love of music with her granddaughters, dancing and marching with them to their favorite Disney songs. Arlene was best known for having the ability to form friendships everywhere she went. There were no strangers to her, just friends she hadn’t met yet.

She will be sadly missed by her two children, Jeanette Rizzo and her husband, Ross, and Anthony Kuderna; her granddaughters, Sara Rizzo and her fiancé, Alex Wolan, and MacKenzie Rizzo; and her brother, Robert Wilson, Sr. and his wife Loretta; sister-in-law, Lynn Pedicano and her husband Ernie; and sister-inlaw, Carol Wilson. She was predeceased by her brother, John Wilson.

She is also survived by her most favorite nephew, Robert Wilson Jr.; and dearest friends, Anthony and Janice Maturo, Randy Owen, and many close friends who were like family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 28th at 11:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Road, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hamden.

The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday morning between the hours of 9:00 – 10:30am.
