John William Gallas, 73, passed away on November 18, 2023, and shortly thereafter, called his wife Marion Pendleton Gallas, 76, to join him on January 5, 2024, both in the city of Danbury, CT where they resided since 1986.

Born in Stamford, CT, John graduated from Stamford High School and earned his Associate Degree from Norwalk Community College. He was the proud business owner of J. W. Gallas Rod Company, making custom bamboo fly fishing rods for many loyal clients around the globe. John was known for his genuine passion and talent for the craft as well as his deep appreciation and respect for nature. If he wasn't spending time with his family, he would likely be found wading in a stream. John was also a gifted musician and shared his love for the Beatles with his daughter Elaine. He will be remembered for his clever jokes and sense of humor that would often fill a room with warmth and laughter.

Marion was born in White Plains, NY and graduated from White Plains High School. She worked as a secretary at Danbury Hospital for many years, and took pride in sharing this experience with the kind and compassionate staff who cared for her there during her finals months of life. Marion shared her passion for singing with her family, and in her younger years starred in several community plays in the White Plains area. Her balanced wit and charismatic nature captivated those around her and inspired a love and appreciation for the performing arts. Marion provided unwavering support for her loved ones. She was known for her words of encouragement as well as practical guidance.

John and Marion wed in 1972, enjoying 51 years of devoted companionship. In sickness and in health, they shared a life filled with love, loyalty, and dedication, admired by all fortunate to know them.

They are survived by their only child, Elaine Frantz (Mike), their two grandchildren, Pendleton Frantz and Ronan Frantz, nieces Beverly Ottman and Nancy Millen, and nephew David Taylor.

Marion was predeceased by her sister Marylin Taylor Visconti and brother Frederick Taylor.
