The Regional Educational Attendance Area, or REAA, annual school board elections will occur on October 6.

This includes REAA #2, the Bering Strait School District, which has five board seats up for reelection. The polls will be open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The Unalakleet City Office is the official absentee voting location and can only be used by voters in Section IV for residents of St. Michael, Stebbins and Unalakleet. Voters can submit absentee ballots there from September 21 until October 5.

Tiffany Montemayor, spokesperson for the Division of Elections, said that absentee ballots were sent out on September 11. But because the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot for REAA elections is September 26, the DOE is continually mailing out ballots.
