Ashley Garnie and Charles Okpealuk of Teller are proud to announce the birth of their son Zayne Joseph Okpealuk Garnie. He was born on December 2, 2021 at 7:47 p.m. at Norton Sound Regional Hospital in Nome. He weighed 7 lbs and was 20 ½ inches in length. His maternal grandparen­ts are Mary and Joe Garnie of Teller. His paternal grandparen­ts are Lucinda Menadelook and James Pushruk of Teller.

Krysta Serene and Wade “Gray” Harrison are pleased and extremely proud to announce the birth of their healthy son Rowan Gray Harrison. He was born on Nov. 12, 2021 at 3:40 p.m. He will be one month soon and loves to eat, make cute noises and take long warm showers. Krysta is extremely happy to be a Nome grown mother and says she feels complete now. Gray is from North Carolina but has been in Nome almost eight years and has made Nome is new home and is excited to be a father. We hope Rowan will make lots of friends and love Nome as much as his parents. Rowan’s maternal grandmothe­r is Caroline “Cussy” Kauer (Reader) and grandfathe­r is the late Bob Kauer. His paternal grandparen­ts are from North Carolina: Wade Harrison, and Mary Byron now married to Jim Byron. Rowan already has lots of aunties, uncles and cousins who adore him.

Mariah M. Washington and Jordan I. Otten of Stebbins are proud to announce the birth of their son Jordiah Kane Otten on Nov. 28, 2021 at 2:10 a.m. at Norton Sound Regional Hospital in Nome. The baby weighted 9 lbs and was 20 ½ inches in length. He joins siblings August Mark Otten Washington, 4, and Katiana Moira Rosie Otten, 1. Grandparen­ts are Priscilla Otten; Kathy and Gregory Mike, of Stebbins.
