Recognizing scholarship recipients and donors

Congratulations to Elizabeth (Libby) Christinat, the 2020 recipient of the $100,000 Kevin M. Eidt Memorial Scholarship. Kevin’s Norwalk High School scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior in the Kevin M. Eidt Chapter of the National Honor Society in good standing and in the top 10 percent of their class with a breadth of demonstrated achievements across the spectrum of academics, athletics, arts, and community and religious service. Libby, the 24th recipient of this scholarship, will be attending the College of William and Mary in the fall.

Other recipients of Kevin’s 2020 scholarships were Norwalk High School seniors Julia Dufort (Scholar-Athlete Scholarship), attending the University of Virginia; Brynn Schmitt, (Orchestra Scholarship), attending Furman University; Antonia Gasparro, (St. Jerome Youth Group Scholarship), attending Fairfield University; Pramita Subedi, (Marching Band Scholarship), attending Williams College; and Ryan Whitney, ( Jazz Scholarship), attending Berklee College of Music.

Since the fund’s inception, almost $2.3 million in gifts of education have been provided to 170 recipients in Kevin’s memory thanks to generous contributions from donors in Norwalk and surrounding communities. A special thanks to Norwalk-based companies Xerox Corporation and Fairfield County Bank for their unique support.

During the 2020–21 academic year Kevin’s Fund will be marking its 25th year with special events culminating with the announcement of the 25th Norwalk High Scholarship at the Fund’s Annual Scholarship Presentation and Benefit Dinner Dance on April 10, 2021.
