President Trump’s tax returns — ‘fraud’

-

Judging by some of the letters in today’s paper, it appears that many of your readers are seriously misinformed, willfully or not, about the blockbuster report over Trump’s taxes. The actions taken by the president do not, in any way, reflect “creative accounting” by smart accountants. When you create a set of returns that purposefully over-inflate massive losses for the IRS — including paying one’s daughter “consulting fees” and writing them off — that’s tax fraud.

When you create a second set of returns for bank loans, that wildly over-inflate your assets, that’s bank fraud. That’s not creative. It’s blatantly criminal. Felonies, in fact, that carry severe penalties.

There are reasons both the NYC District Attorney and the New York State Attorney General are investigating the entire Trump family for tax and bank fraud, and why the

IRS is still auditing a $70 million refund from 2010. Americans also deserve to know who’s holding the over $400 million in debt over his head, as it likely represents grave national security concerns.

Only criminals go through such great lengths to hide their financials from investigators. If everything the president says was legitimate, we would have seen the tax returns four years ago — or even yesterday, to put the debate to rest.

To this day, however, he’s waged a bitter fight over keeping them hidden from everyone. There’s only one reason why. Those who think otherwise, continue to be fools. It’s as simple as that.

The emperor has no clothes, folks. He can’t even afford them.
