Party: Democrat Race: 143rd state House district
This is Stephanie Thomas’ second campaign for the 143rd district seat, having lost narrowly to then-incumbent Gail Lavielle of Wilton in 2018, who is not running this year. A resident of Norwalk where she lives with her husband Greg, she is the founder of Stetwin Consulting, which offers fundraising expertise to nonprofit organizations. Thomas lists her campaign priorities as protecting voting rights, gun safety, affordable healthcare that includes a public option and cap on prescription drug prices, investment in transportation, a woman’s right to choose, environmental protections, and affordable college. Thomas is being challenged by Republican Patrizia Zucaro of Westport. The 143rd district includes parts of Wilton, Westport and Norwalk. Prior to Lavielle’s election in 2010, the seat was held for one term by Democrat Peggy Reeves of Wilton, who was elect
ed in 2008. The district was represented by Republican Toni Boucher from 1996 until her election to the state Senate in 2008.
