POLICE: NEW CANAAN WOMAN STOLE FROM 4 NORWALK BUSINESSES
A New Canaan woman broke into four Norwalk businesses over a twoweek period in October, according to police, stealing cash and causing “hundreds of dollars of damage” in the process.
Police said Lyon, 32, accompanied an unidentified individual in breaking into Valvala’s Deli on Strawberry Hill Avenue, Toyota Rent A Car, on West Main Street, and Mister Sports and Cafe Dolce on Main Street.
Lt. Jared Zwickler said the two would enter the businesses by smashing storefront windows with a rock or cinder block before raiding the establishments for cash.
A monthslong investigation led detectives to identify Lyon as a suspect, police said.
Lyon was arrested Tuesday morning and was charged with six counts of conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, four counts of third-degree burglary, five counts of conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and five counts of sixth-degree larceny. She was held on $220,000 bond and given a court date of Feb. 2.
Police are still working to identify the other person believed to be involved in the burglaries, Zwickler said.
