Man charged in Norwalk burglary spree

NORWALK — A New Canaan man broke into at . least eight local businesses, causing damages and stealing cash, during an October burglary spree, police said.

Chance Perrone, 21, is the second person to be charged in connection to a string of commercial burglaries dating back to October. His suspected accomplice, 32-year-old Lindsey Lyon, also of New Canaan, was arrested and charged twice in December in connection to the burglaries.

Police said Perrone has been connected to burglaries at Jordan’s Pizza and Salon Robert on Westport Avenue; Valvala’s Deli on Strawberry Hill Avenue; Toyota Rent A Car on West Main Street; Seaport Salon and Joaldi’s Fashions & Alteration­s on Van Zant Street; and Mister Sports and Cafe Dolce on Main Street.

During the burglaries, police said Perrone stole $100 of fresh bread from Jordan’s Pizza, as well as hundreds of dollars in cash and change from numerous establishm­ents.

Perrone is also accused of attempting to break into the Norwalk Smoke Shop on Westport Avenue, as well as the Valencia food truck, which is typically parked behind the Main Street restaurant.

The 21-year-old, who is currently incarcerat­ed at the Bridgeport Correction­al Center, was arrested Tuesday as he appeared at Superior Court in Stamford on unrelated charges.

Perrone was charged with nine counts of thirddegre­e burglary, nine counts of conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, nine counts of second-degree criminal mischief, six counts of sixthdegre­e larceny, six counts of conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny and two counts of criminal attempt at third-degree burglary.

He was held on $750,000 bond and is next scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 23.
