U.S. airline orders Pratt & Whitney jets
Pratt & Whitney announced its first major order since the start of the pandemic, with Frontier Airlines ordering engines for 134 Airbus jets. Pratt & Whitney has its headquarters in East Hartford as a subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies with more than 11,000 Connecticut workers at last report, including in Middletown. Pratt & Whitney revenue dropped below $3.5 billion in the third quarter of last year. That was down more than a third and resulted in an operating loss of $615 million, which Raytheon was able to erase with profits from its three other big divisions including Collins Aerospace.
