Norwalk man allegedly beat, robbed teenager

STAMFORD — A 31year-old Norwalk man beat and threatened to shoot a teenager during a robbery on the city’s West Side, according to an arrest warrant.

Christopher Egan, 31, was arrested Friday on charges of first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery in connection to an Aug. 15 incident.

According to arrest warrant, Egan and an unidentified second individual picked up a 17-year-old victim around 8 p.m. that night under the false pretense they would be bringing the teenager to buy marijuana from a third party.

The warrant states Egan, also known as “White Boy Chris,” picked up the victim at the corner of West Avenue and Stillwater Road and drove him to the nearby Selleck Street Market at 29 Irving Ave., where he ordered the teen to go inside and buy rolling papers.

When the teen returned from the store, he found Egan and the other man outside of the car smoking weed on the sidewalk, the warrant said.

The teen handed over the rolling papers, at which point Egan’s companion grabbed him, threw him against a fence and the two began to punch him in the stomach and face, according to the warrant.

During the attack, the warrant states the suspects told the teenager to get on the ground “or they would shoot him.”

The warrant states that the pair continued to punch and kick the teenager while he was on the ground, before robbing him of $500 in cash and taking the shoes off his feet.

After rifling through the victim’s pockets, Egan and his companion escaped in their car, which had the victim’s backpack containing an additional $300, an iPhone and other items still inside, the warrant said.

The victim later had to walk shoe-less to a friend’s house nearby, the warrant said.

Based on the surveillance footage from the area, detectives were able to trace the red Hyundai used in the robbery to a woman, who police believe is in a relationship with Egan. Detectives then traced the phone used to contact the victim on the night of the robbery to Egan, the warrant said.

The victim later picked Egan out of photographic lineup presented by police.

Egan was held on $100,000 bond.
