Mystic Market makes plans for Foxwoods location
Mystic Market, a gourmet kitchen and eatery with four locations along the Connecticut coastline, plans to add a fifth later this summer at Foxwoods Resort Casino.
Located on the Great Cedar concourse in the Great Cedar Hotel, Mystic Market will occupy over 6,400 square feet, providing fresh sandwiches, soups, salads, desserts, coffee and gourmet meals, all made in-house with locally sourced ingredients. The Foxwoods location will also have a retail component, with items like olive oils, vinegars and spices.
Mystic Market is led by Charles Spathakis, who established Coastal Gourmet Group with the first market location in 1993. The group now runs two markets in Mystic, one in Old Saybrook and one in Westport, along with a catering division and two restaurants: Aspen Restaurant & Bar in Old Saybrook and Latitude 41 Restaurant and Tavern at Mystic Seaport.
“We are thrilled to be opening a Mystic Market at Foxwoods — a premier foodie destination in Southern Connecticut,” Spathakis said in a statement.
Mystic Market’s menus vary by location, but feature hot and cold gourmet sandwiches and grinders, breakfast options like egg sandwiches, burritos and bagels; salads and rotating daily meal specials like chicken cordon bleu, grilled salmon ratatouille, meatloaf and vegetarian/vegan options.
