Robert Hendrick Sr. passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2022. Bob was the beloved husband of Mary (McCarthy) Hendrick for 35 years. Born in Norwalk, CT on December 15, 1927, the son of the late Charles and Viola (Guyer) Hendrick. He was a proud lifelong resident of Norwalk.

He was a well-known and respected local Norwalk businessma­n for many years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was once again called up for service by the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bob was a member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians. He enjoyed traveling, reading, and history.

Bob was blessed by two wonderful marriages totaling 61 years. He was married to Betty Anne Hendrick for 26 years until her death in 1985. Bob was blessed again with his second marriage to Mary for 35 years. He considered her children to be his. His family and his service to his country were the two things he was most proud of.

In addition to his wife Mary, Bob is survived by his three sons: Robert and Debbie, William and Eva, and John, all of Connecticu­t; three grandchild­ren: Melissa Murphy, Laura Hendrick, and Taylor Hendrick, as well as three cherished great-grandchild­ren. He is survived by his sister, Jean Mulligan (Ryan). He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Lois Hendrick as well as his children from his second marriage: Sean and Beth McCarthy, Daniel and Diana McCarthy, Maureen McCarthy, and Eileen and Randy Teinert.

He is predecease­d by his parents; his first wife, Betty Anne Hendrick (Garrigan) (mother of his children); his brother Charles and his former sister-in-law, Marian; his sister Lois and her husband Eugene McCarthy; and beloved brothers-in-law Richard Ryan and George Mulligan.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 23rd, at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk from 4-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 24th at St. Thomas The Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
