Free assistance offered for tax preparation
The city of Norwalk has teamed with SimplifyCT to offer free full-service tax assistance to residents.
The program is offered through the IAARP/VITA/IRS Volunteer Tax Assistance Program. It is the nation’s largest free volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service and is available to all individual filers regardless of income or age.
Norwalk is offering inperson and virtual tax return preparation services at several locations through April 18, which is the tax deadline this year. The services are offered in English and Spanish. The volunteer preparers are all IRS-certified.
