BEIRUT — Lebanese officials say auto tycoon Carlos Ghosn has filed a $1 billion lawsuit against Nissan and about a dozen individuals in Beirut over his imprisonment in Japan and what he says is misinformation spread against him. The judicial officials said on Tuesday that Ghosn’s lawsuit accuses Nissan and the individuals of defamation and of “fabricating charges” against him, which eventually put him behind bars in Japan. The lawsuit was filed last month. Ghosn was arrested in Japan in November 2018 on charges of breach of trust, misusing company assets for personal gains and violating securities laws by not fully disclosing his compensation. He had been leading the Japanese automaker Nissan for two decades. He fled to Lebanon in 2019.

SAN FRANCISCO — President Joe Biden will convene a group of technology leaders in San Francisco to debate artificial intelligence. The Biden administration is seeking to figure out how to regulate the emergent field of AI, looking for ways to nurture its potential for economic growth and national security and protect against its potential dangers. The Democratic president plans to meet on Tuesday with eight experts from academia and advocacy groups. White House chief of staff Jeff Zients’ office is developing a set of actions the federal government can take over the coming weeks regarding AI. Biden’s administration wants commitments from private companies to address the possible risks from AI.

MILFORD — A P.F. Chang’s restaurant planned at Connecticut Post mall in Milford is now scheduled to open more than a year later than originally planned, with the reasons for the delay not immediately clear.

Mall officials had previously said that the Asian dining chain’s latest establishment would open this spring. But in response to an inquiry from CT Insider, a spokesperson for P.F. Chang’s said in an email this week that, “P.F. Chang’s looks forward to serving guests at Connecticut Post Mall. They anticipate opening (in) late 2024 and will share more information closer to that time.”

The spokesperson for P.F. Chang’s did not respond to a follow-up inquiry from CT Insider about why the restaurant’s opening had been pushed back.

A spokesperson for Connecticut Post Mall confirmed receiving a message that asked about the delay but did not provide an on-the-record response.

When it opens, P.F. Chang’s will take a section of the mall formerly occupied by a Bar Louie, which closed in early 2020.

It will be the second active P.F. Chang’s location in Connecticut, alongside one at

Westfarms mall, on the Farmington-West Hartford line. A P.F. Chang’s restaurant had operated at Stamford Town Center mall, but that establishment closed in 2016.

The Scottsdale, Arizonabased P.F. Chang’s has more than 300 restaurants across more than 20 countries.

“P.F. Chang’s is the first internationally recognized multiunit Asian culinary brand to honor and celebrate wok cooking as the center of the guest experience,” says an excerpt on its website. “With roots in Chinese cuisine, today’s menu spans across all of Asia, honoring cultures and recipes from Japan, Korea, Thailand and beyond. Each menu item offers a unique exploration of flavor, whether it’s a handcrafted cocktail, wok-fired lunch bowl or celebratory multi-course dinner.”

Among other developments at Connecticut Post, the mall last week saw the opening of Funbox, a 25,000-square-foot bounce park with 10 play zones.
