Caroline Aponte, Darien, Sr.: Scored the game’s only goal against Fairfield Warde and had a goal and an assist in a 6-1 win over Danbury.

Annabel Edwards, Staples-Westport, Jr.: Came through with a pair of assists in the Wreckers’ 3-1 victory over Fairfield Ludlowe.

Samantha Simlick, Stafford, Jr.: Came through with a hat trick in Stafford’s 5-0 win over Parish Hill-Chaplin.

Laney Smith, MercyMiddl­etown, Jr.: Scored both goals in Mercy’s 2-1 win over Lyman Hall-Lyman Hall.

Natalie Smith, Grasso Tech-Groton, Sr.: Had a hat trick in Grasso Tech’s 5-1 win over Norwich Tech/Holy Family.

Rosie Turbett, Lyman Hall, Sr.: Had a hat trick in the Trojans’ 7-0 win over Wilbur Cross-New Haven.

Julia Luna Zyskowska, Sheehan-Wallingfor­d, Soph.: Had a hat trick in an 8-0 win over East Haven.

GAMES TO WATCH

St. Joseph-Trumbull at Staples Wednesday, Oct. 18, 4 p.m.: The reigning Class LL state champion hosts the reigning Class L state champion and the state’s No. 1 team. This won’t be the only time these teams meet this season.

Cheshire vs. Mercy at Xavier-Middletown, Wednesday, Oct. 18, 4:30 p.m.: Mercy remains the only undefeated team in the SCC. Cheshire lost to Mercy earlier this season 1-0. These two teams could meet in the postseason again.

Sacred Heart Academy-Hamden vs. Mercy at Xavier, Friday, Oct. 20, 3:45 p.m.: Sacred Heart Academy’s only loss came against undefeated Mercy. These teams shared the Class M state championsh­ip in 2021, leading to a change for penalty kicks to decide an outright state champion.

Morgan-Clinton at Cromwell, Monday, Oct. 23, 3:45 p.m.: Morgan will likely have the top seed in the Shoreline Conference tournament locked up by the time this game kicks off. Teams played to a 2-2 tie back on Sept. 15.
