Norwalk native and Greenwich Academy (Class of 2019) graduate Kaitlyn Davis was selected in the third round with the 35th overall pick by the New York Liberty in the WNBA draft on Monday.

Davis spent five years at Greenwich Academy, having made the varsity team as an eighth-grader, and was a four-time Fairchester Athletic Association All-League selection, scoring well over 1,000 points in her high school career.

Following graduation, Davis continued her basketball career at Columbia University, where she played until her senior year in 2023. She helped lead Columbia to the Ivy League title as a senior, scoring double-digit points in 26 games with eight double-doubles.

The 6-2 forward was a two-time First Team All-Ivy League selection and finished her time there with 1,083 career points (ranking eighth all-time at Columbia), 679 career rebounds (seventh all-time), and recorded the first triple-double in Columbia women’s basketball history on Jan. 28, 2023 with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

Following graduation, she entered the transfer portal and spent her final year of eligibility with the University of Southern California, which was defeated in the Elite Eight by UConn earlier this month.

At USC, Davis started 24 games and appeared in 30, averaging 6.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 54.4 percent (74-136) from the field.

“By securing Kaitlyn’s draft rights, she will have the opportunity to continue to develop and compete for a spot on the Liberty as soon as the 2025 season,” New York Liberty General Manager Jonathan Kolb said following the selection. “Her athleticism in the frontcourt, dynamic playmaking ability, and rim protection make her an exciting future prospect.”
