• Oakland County Water Resources Commission­er Jim Nash launched the 16th annual Kids’ Clean Water 2021Calend­ar Contest, open to 4th and 5th-grade students in Oakland County. With the theme of “We Can All Help to Keep Oakland County’s Lakes, Streams, Rivers andWatersh­eds Clean,” artwork may consist of crayon, marker, colored pencil or paint and should be drawn on standard 8 ½ by 11-inch paper, only one entry per student, artwork must be submitted online by 5p.m. Oct. 9, at www.oakgov.com/water.

• McLaren BrooksieWa­y Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Lil’ Brooksie Fun Run races are virtual this year, due to COVID-19. • David Elkus, owner of local menswear companies, Baron’s Wholesale Clothiers in Farmington Hills and Todd’s Menswear in Royal Oak, is hosting Suitember, a national partnershi­p of men’s suit shops across the country that donate a portion of sales during the month of September.
