A 24-year-old Rochester Hillsman is facing two felony charges for allegedly attacking a homeowner after harassing him about having blue lights on his house to support law enforcement.

Justin Michael Brown was arraigned Sept. 29 in 52-3 District Court on charges of first- degree home invasion, punishable by up to 20 years in prison and/or $5,000 fine, and resisting/obstructing a police office, punishable by up to two years in prison and/or $2,000 fine. Bond was set at $75,000.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, it was shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday when deputies responded to a residence on Gerald Avenue for an assault and home invasion complaint.

The victim, a 30-yearold Rochester Hills man, said he was headed into his home when someone, who’s since been identified as Brown, walked up his driveway and started harassing him about the blue lights on the exter ior of the house, then yelled: “The cops know where the white bitches are at.”

Brown followed theman inside his home, punched him in the back of the head, broke the entry door’s window and then fled on foot, the sheriff’s office said.

A deputy checked the area and located Brown as someone matching the description given by the victim. He initially complied but then fled as he was being taken into custody, the sheriff’s said.

The deputy tasered him and took him into custody without further incident, the sheriff’s office said.

The homeowner positively identified Brown as his assailant, who was then transported to the Oakland County Jail. His next court date is scheduled for Oct. 8.

Brown’s criminal history includes convictions in Florida for robbery, aggravated assault with a weapon and various drug offenses, the sheriff’s office said.
