“I like sports,” 13-yearold Andrew says, “Basketball, football, softball: I like playing sports and watching them.”

“Every time we talk,” his worker agrees, “it’s usually surrounding sports.

“Andrewis very active,” she continues. “He is in a basketball league, and last weekend he went canoeing and loved every second of it. He loves being adventurous and doing things with other kids his age.”

Andrew also enjoys camping and fishing.

He hopes to find a forever family who is also active and enjoys spending timetogether outdoors.

“As much as Andrew is a happy, outdoor-loving teen with a bubbly personality who likes to have fun with friends,” his worker shares, “he isalsosomeonewhoreally cares about people, which is tough to find in teenage boys.

“He’s got a really big heart and is caring and kind to other kids. He enjoys being a role model and has said that it’s important that younger

kids have him to look up to.

“His teachers always express that he does really well in school,” says his worker, “and that he is helpful and considerate.

“He’s super-smart. I’m in aweof— and lovewatching— how quickly he can solve his Rubik’s Cube puzzle!”

Andrew’s favorite school subject is math, and he is considering becoming an engineer or a graphic designer or musical artist.

Hehas a quiet side andenjoys drawing and listening to music when indoors, and he takes pride in being able to expresshis thoughtsand feelings through art.

“Andrew is growing into a young man,” his worker says, “and is focused on having a positive future for himself. He is outgoing and smart… but also likes quiet downtime… and he loves cats.”

Andrew’s worker believes that he needs a family that is active and likes to be outdoors, whowillparticipate in sports with him.

“He needs a family who loves him,” she says, “and is willing to put all effort into him, as well as continuing the services that are currently helping him to thrive. He would do well with other kids in the home of a similar age or younger, or as an only child. And, he would love to have a cat.”

His worker also feels that Andrew would benefit from having a mentor: someone who’d call him, visit himregularly and offer support.

Andrew says, “I’d like a family that will enjoy doing fun things together, like camping, fishing, and playing games.

“Having people that care for you,” he says, “is what the word ‘family’ means.”
