Group helps restore part of Edsel and Eleanor Ford’s estate in Highland
The Colonial Dames XVII Metamora Chapter recently attended a “Cupola Renovation Reveal Ceremony” at the invitation of the Friends ofHighland Recreation Area.

Before the unveiling, an informative talk about the gatehouse and remaining structures of the Edsel and Eleanor Ford’s summer home was given by Richard Rossell, the president of the Friends of Highland Recreation Area. The organization’s goal is to combine the Ford history with other activities and amenities of theHighland State Recreation Area.
KimSmith, the ColonialDames XVII Century’sMetamora Chapter president, held a brief meeting in the park, which was attended by the organization’s State President Christine Richmond and included the swearing in of Colonial Dames XVII Metamora Chapter’s newest member, Pamela Smaltz.
