• The American Red Cross seeks blood donors. Healthy donors are asked to make an appointment by downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood. org, or by calling 1- 800RED CROSS (1- 800-7332767). Those who come to donate at the Red Cross through the holidays will receive a long-sleeved Red Cross T- shirt, while supplies last. As COVID-19 hospitalizations increase, hospital demand for convalescent plasma has also grown. COVID-19 convalescent plasma is a type of blood donation given by those who have recovered from this coronavirus. Their plasma contains antibodies that may help patients actively fighting the virus. • Canterbury Village has partnered with Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers to collect new, unwrapped toys through Dec. 31, for The Bottomless Toy Chest, to benefit hospitalized children during the holidays. Donations can be placed in the Chevrolet Silverado, parked next to the 43-foot Christmas tree in the shopping corridor at Canterbury Village.

Shoppers can donate non-perishable food at Loves stores, including the Royal Oak and Waterford stores.
