Vaccine to be administered to residents, volunteers at senior living community
The Pfizer vaccine is set to be administered to residents and staff of Sterling Place, a senior living community associated with Holiday Retirement, at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4 and Monday, Jan. 25 at the facility, located at 22800 Civic Center Drive in Southfield.
Volunteers who sign up in advance to participate in the clinic will also receive the vaccine at no cost to them.
Among the first in the nation to receive the vaccine, the on-site clinic is being done through Oakland County Health Department, with the first dose being given on Jan. 4 and the second on Jan. 25.
“Hope is no longer just on the horizon; it’s here — not only in spirit, but in the form of the long-anticipated COVID-19 vaccine that will be offered to residents and associates at the Holiday’s senior living communities across the country, including Sterling Place,” Lilly Donohue, Holiday Retirement CEO, said.
“For the past nine months, I’ve been truly awestruck by the resilience, dedication and adaptability of our residents and associates, and we’re so grateful that they will be among the first group being vaccinated in this historic milestone and what hopefully will help end the pandemic,” she said.
Oakland County has authorized the distribution of the vaccine to the Sterling Place community.
All seven of Holiday Retirement’s assisted living communities nationwide have also been approved to receive the vaccine in the first round of the Pharmacy Partnership for Long-Term Care (LTC) Program.
