Beaumont teams with Rite Aid to expand therapeutic camps and playground
During the last 25 years, the Rite Aid Foundation has donated a total of $4.7 million to Beaumont Children’s Hospital. These funds have been used toward pediatric equipment and care for children across southeast Michigan.
In 2020, the Beaumont Children’s Center for Exceptional Families used donations from Rite Aid to expand their therapeutic summer camps and support groups, as well as add to the outdoor inclusive playground that houses many of these activities. The Center for Exceptional Families offers comprehensive medical, rehabilitation, recreational and social support for children with special needs or life-threatening injuries.
“Whether they have an autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, genetic syndrome, or condition related to illness, accident or traumatic birth, no child is turned away from the CEF no matter how difficult the case,” said Kristy Brown, manager of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Beaumont Health Foundation.
“Thanks in part to Rite Aid and the Rite Aid Foundation, we can continue to provide exceptional patient and family-centered care – beyond billable services – to every child in need in our region.”
Last year, Rite Aid and its charitable arm supported Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals within their 18-state footprint with more than $5.6 million in donations
– bringing the company’s lifetime giving to more than $102 million.
