Michigan reported a total of 1,681 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, a slight uptick from the previous two days’ reports.

While six new deaths in total were reported, this comes after an adjustment in figures lowered total death tolls in several counties.

In particular, Wayne County’s total decreased by three deaths, while Bay, Calhoun, Iosco, Lenawee, Ogemaw, Oscoda and Ottawa all saw one death removed from their totals.

Additionally, Oscoda, Cheboygan and Gratiot reported a decrease of one case from their total caseloads.

Since the onset of the pandemic, 9.8 million tests have been administered. Of those, 9.31 million have been diagnostic tests, while just under 484,000 have been serology tests.

Diagnostic tests are used to find current infections, while serology tests are used to find the possibility of a prior infection.

As of Wednesday, 1,477,475 vaccines have been administered. Pfizer vaccines make up 734,175 of that total, while Moderna vaccines account for 743,300.

Southeast Michigan and more-populated areas continued having the highest caseloads.

Wayne County, excluding Detroit, reported 176 new cases. Within Detroit city limits, 86 new cases and a single new death were reported.

Oakland County reported 138 new cases and two deaths, while Macomb County reported 128 cases and a single death.

In mid-Michigan, Isabella County reported seven cases with a single new death. Clare County reported two cases and one death. As previously reported, Gratiot County saw an adjustment of -1 cases, with no new deaths reported.

Michigan has now seen 554,237 COVID-19 cases since the onset of the pandemic, with 14,411 deaths.
