Lake Orion beats Berkley at buzzer

A recap of high school sporting events reported to The Oakland Press on Tuesday night:

BOYS BASKETBALL

• LAKE ORION 41, BERKLEY 38: Andrew Bryant hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Lake Orion to a 41-38 win over Berkley on Tuesday night.

Brennan Jones had 15 points to lead the Dragons (7-2, 4-1 OAA Blue) in the win, while Will McClear scored 10.

Joey McNamara had nine points to lead Berkley while Logan Haley scored eight.

• SOUTH LYON EAST 57, LAKELAND 52: Bryce Bird scored 22 points to lead South Lyon East past Lakeland on Tuesday night.

Adam Trent added 13 points for the Cougars, who improved to 7-1 with the victory.

• SOUTH LYON 56, WALLED LAKE NORTHERN 51: South Lyon improved to 4-1 in the Lakes Valley Conference on Tuesday with a 56-51 win over Walled Lake Northern.

Lucas Doty had 17 points to lead the Lions (6-2) while Quinn Fracassi scored 16 and Max Peters had 10.

Northern (5-2, 4-2 LVC) was led by Jesse Lawson Jr., who had 19 points. Kevyn Robertson added eight points and 10 rebounds.

• KETTERING 43, WALLED LAKE WESTERN 42, OT: Waterford Kettering won its fourth straight on Tuesday night, besting Walled Lake Western in OT, 43-42.

Bennie Crenshaw scored 22 points to lead the Captains (6-4, 2-3 LVC), while Trevor Donohue had nine.

Wil Ludwig and Eric Dean each scored 14 points to lead the Warriors.

• MILFORD 47, MOTT 44, OT: Sam Lewis knocked down the game-winning shot in OT to lift Milford over Waterford Mott, 4744, on Tuesday night.

Lewis finished with 15 points and eight rebounds for the Mavericks. Lucas Theriault had 10 points and seven rebounds.

• BLOOMFIELD HILLS 66, STONEY CREEK 58, OT:

Bloomfield Hills earned a hard-fought overtime victory over Stoney Creek on Tuesday, 66-58.

Noah Adamczyk led the Black Hawks in the win with 27 points, while Mason Canfield had 10 points and six assists.

Trevor Smith had 24 points to lead the Cougars.

• ADAMS 59, GROVES 49: Rochester Adams overcame a double-digit deficit to defeat Birmingham Groves on Tuesday, 59-49.

The Highlander­s were led by Andrew Brown, who had 23 points.

Ben Chermside and Jon Ursuy each added in 11 points.

• OXFORD 55, SEAHOLM 45: Mason Mulholland scored 27 points on Tuesday night to lead Oxford to a 55-45 win over Birmingham Seaholm.

Jonny Cross led the Maples with 17 points.

• BROTHER RICE 74, RENAISSANC­E 50: Birmingham Brother Rice got past Detroit Renaissanc­e on Tuesday night, 74-50.

Curtis Williams and Xavier Thomas each scored 15 points for the Warriors.

• ROYAL OAK 54, FERNDALE UNIVERSITY 44: The Royal Oak boys basketball team grabbed an OAA Gold win on Tuesday, besting Ferndale University 54-44.

Dylan Hoffmann had 25 points to lead the Ravens in the win. Charlie Garbowski added 12 points, while Cam Clark scored 10.

• ROCHESTER 57, AVONDALE 49: The Rochester boys basketball team held off Auburn Hills Avondale on Tuesday for a 57-49 victory.

Matt Stone led the Falcons with 29 points in the victory.

• TROY ATHENS 66, DETROIT VOYAGEUR 46: The Troy Athens boys basketball team picked up a non-conference win over Detroit Voyageur on Tuesday night, 66-46.

Michael Justice had 17 points to lead the Red Hawks in the win, while Jacob Thornton and Jordan Sebagh each had 12.

• MADISON 55, PORT HURON 47: Madison Heights Madison earned a 55-47 win over Port Huron on Tuesday night.

Malik Davis had 16 points to lead the Eagles in the win while Quentin Jones had 12 points with eight rebounds.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

• FARMINGTON 55, SEAHOLM 48: The Farmington girls basketball team improved to 3-0 in the OAA Gold and 7-2 overall with a 55-48 win over Birmingham Seaholm on Tuesday night.

Sophia Holdwick had 25 points to lead the Falcons in the victory, while Autumn Bartlett scored 14.

Katie Sullivan had 15 points and four assists to lead the Maples, while Shay Manchester added 11 points and three steals.

• WALLED LAKE NORTHERN 36, SOUTH LYON 26: The Walled Lake Northern girls basketball team bested South Lyon on Tuesday, 36-26.

Mary Krause had 12 points and six rebounds to lead the Knights while Andie Wolfe had nine points with eight rebounds.

• SOUTH LYON EAST 43, LAKELAND 39: The South Lyon East girls basketball team found its way to a 43-39 win over Lakeland on Tuesday night.

Molly Libby had 17 points to lead the Eagles (4-4) while Summer Ambler had seven points.

• MERCY 67, LENAWEE CHRISTIAN 51: Farmington Hills Mercy overcame a small halftime deficit to dominate the second half and earn a 67-51 win over Adrian Lenawee Christian on Tuesday.

Jill Smith had 17 points to lead the Marlins (5-3) while Maddie Kenney had 14 and Sophie Dugas added

• INTERCITY BAPTIST 50, COUNTRY DAY 48: Detroit Country Day was edged by Allen Park Intercity Baptist on Tuesday night, 50-48.

Chelsea Abulu had 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Yellowjack­ets, while Emma Arico had 13 points and four assists.
