One of two men facing charges stemming from an alleged armed robbery in South Lyon that left a teenager and his father shot to death is expected to be out of jail soon after a district court judge revised his bond during a March 10 hearing.

Noting that he had some reservations about adjusting the bond to $50,000 — requiring just $5,000 to be posted — 52-1 District Judge Travis Reeds followed a recommendation from assistant prosecutor John Pietrofesa and a request from defense attorney Keith Tatarelli which allows Anthony Marshall Porter to be released on an electronic tether. Porter will be staying at his mother’s house, Tatarelli said.

Earlier, Porter had been denied bond.

Porter, 27, is charged with six felonies including armed robbery and firearms offenses for the Dec. 30 shooting of Dylan Stamper, 17, and Keith Stamper, 43, at their home in the 300 block of Liberty Street. Dylan died at the scene, but his father clung to life for nearly four weeks at an area hospital before dying from his injuries.

Fadi Jesus Zeineh, 19, is charged with both homicides, armed robbery and firearms offenses — a total of 10 felonies.

Police have said it’s believed the shootings happened during what was supposed to be a marijuana purchase from Dylan.

In requesting the bond change for Porter, Tatarelli told the judge that his client wasn’t directly involved in the deaths and was in the car outside the home when the shootings occurred. Both Tatarelli and Pietrofesa said Porter has been cooperating with authorities and it’s anticipated that will continue as the cases against him and Zeineh continue. Neither the assistant prosecutor nor the defense attorney believe Porter to be a flight risk or a danger to the public.

Also on Wednesday, Porter waived his right to a preliminary exam, which resulted in Reeds binding the case over to Oakland County Circuit Court.

Reeds cautioned Porter that if he violates any terms of the bond he will be jailed without a hearing. Conditions include not leaving the house except for attorney meetings or medical appointments, drug and alcohol testing three times a week, and having no contact with Zeineh or a witness on the case.

In setting the bond, Reeds told Porter that it’s “an opportunity for you to be out of the jail. It’s on your shoulders for you not to go back.”

The case against Zeineh has not been bound over so far. His next appearance before Reeds is scheduled for April 21. He’s held without bond in the Oakland County Jail.
