Neighborhood House seeking Easter basket donations
The Neighborhood House in Rochester Hills is looking for donations for its annual Easter basket program.
Every year, the nonprofit donates the baskets filled with candy and other surprises to families in need. The program launched in 2005 with 75 baskets. This year, the organization is hoping to distribute over 165 baskets to local children.
“During a very difficult time, both economically and emotionally, our community will come together to generously provide pre-filled Easter baskets for children in need,” Michele Knoblauch, volunteer coordinator for the Neighborhood House, said. “The families receiving these baskets are grateful for the support and joy Neighborhood House provides to their children on Easter morning.”
The Neighborhood
House, which serves the Rochester and Auburn Hills area, provides financial, food, transportation and other assistance to over 3,000 households each year.
Donations for the upcoming Easter basket program can be dropped off between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from March 22 to March 25 at the Neighborhood House’s main office, 1720 S. Livernois Road, Rochester Hills. Suggested donations include individually wrapped candy, Easter basket supplies and small toys.
Donors for the 2021 Easter basket program include: St. Andrew Catholic Church, students in Oakland University’s Human Resource Team and Leadership Development class, Daisy Troop 76302 from Meadowbrook Elementary School’s first grade class, Daisy Troop 77336 from Meadowbrook Elementary School’s kindergarten class, Meadow Brook Christian Church and the Stoney Creek Ridge Subdivision.
