Lawrence Technological University ranks 1st in region for grads’ salaries
Lawrence Technological University ranks first among universities in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties for the average starting salaries of its graduates.
That’s according to a study from SmartAsset. com, a New York City-based online financial services and economic analysis firm.
At an average annual starting salary of $59,200, Lawrence Tech in Southfield is fourth in Michigan among 30 colleges and universities that were included in the SmartAsset survey.
“This survey once again demonstrates that an education at Lawrence Technological University is a sound investment,” LTU President Virinder Moudgil said.
“Our experiential ‘theory and practice’ method of education produces graduates ready to hit the ground running in a wide variety of disciplines where there is critical need for skilled employees who are also effective leaders and communicators.”
The survey’s numbers come from the National Center for Educational Statistics, part of the U.S.
Department of Education; the Seattle compensation software firm Payscale; and the Institute for
College Access and Success, an Oakland, Calif. nonprofit dedicated to making college more affordable and achievable.
Lawrence Tech is a private university that offers nearly 100 programs through the doctoral level in its Colleges of Architecture and Design, Arts and Sciences, Business and Information Technology and Engineering.
PayScale lists Lawrence Tech among the nation’s top 11 percent of universities for the salaries of its graduates.
