Kosmo unveils his predictions for Week 2

-

Well, that was quite an opening week.

Kosmo definitely ate his fair share of humble pie last week. Good news is, Kosmo loves pie.

This week, Kosmo is looking to shift his diet from humble pie to victory champagne.

Let’s hope these teams can do what Kosmo is asking.

Thursday

• Clarkston at Birmingham Seaholm: This should be a physical battle, but that’s nothing new for either team. Clarkston showed a lot in their win over Davison and Kosmo likes the Wolves to grind out another victory. Kosmo Says: Clarkston

• Stoney Creek at Rochester: It’s a big battle in Rochester this week. Both teams looked impressive in their opener, but Rochester has to prove it can handle Stoney Creek’s physicality. Kosmo Says: Stoney Creek

• Royal Oak at Troy: A 2-0 start would go a long way for both programs, but it’s the Colts that seem to be turning the corner a little quicker than the Ravens. Kosmo Says: Troy

• South Lyon at Milford: Milford is looking for its first 2-0 start since 2012. It will be tough against a South Lyon team that proved it can score with the best of them last week. Kosmo Says: South Lyon

• Ferndale at Troy Athens: Troy Athens can already match last season’s win total this week. Hopefully it’s the start of big things for the Red Hawks. Kosmo Says: Troy Athens

• Lakeland at Walled Lake Central: The Eagles made a lot of mental mistakes and still won by double figures last week. A cleaner performance this week should lead to a road win over the Vikings. Kosmo Says: Lakeland

• Walled Lake Western at Walled Lake Northern: The

Knights squeaked past South Lyon East last week, but will have an angry Western team to deal with this week. The Warriors have something to prove. Kosmo Says: WL Western

• Auburn Hills Avondale at Holly: Two teams that struggled offensively in their opener. Both still have the capability and should see improvement this week. Kosmo is going with Avondale, the more consistent winner. Kosmo Says: Avondale

• South Lyon East at Waterford Kettering: Both teams were competitive in their first game with new coaches, but still came out on the losing end. The Captains are quite young and it’s going to take some time for those new faces to mature. Kosmo Says: South Lyon East

Friday

• Lake Orion at North Farmington: Two of the most impressive performances in Week 2 came from these two teams. In this matchup, Kosmo likes the pedigree of the Dragons. North Farmington still has a little something to prove in regards to competing with the best the OAA has to offer. Kosmo Says: Lake Orion

• West Bloomfield at Oak Park: Both team didn’t see themselves going 0-2 to start the year, yet one will. The Lakers had to swallow

their pride after the home loss to Adams. Oak Park will be up for the challenge, but West Bloomfield still has the championship success to rely on. Kosmo Says: West Bloomfield

• Oxford at Rochester Adams: The Highlanders made the biggest statement of all last week. Will they still be celebrating their win from last week against a feisty Oxford squad? Better stay focused, Adams! Kosmo Says: Adams

• Southfield A&T at Birmingham Groves: Both teams had a rough go at the Kickoff Classic. Southfield A&T was able to show more consistent offense and Kosmo thinks that could be the difference in this one. Kosmo Says: Southfield A&T

• Farmington at Berkley: Berkley suffered a close loss last week and Kosmo thinks they will be able to rebound at home against Farmington. Kosmo Says: Berkley

• Davison at Detroit Catholic Central: Doesn’t get any easier for the Shamrocks this week. This is a big gutcheck game for CC, as the schedule won’t be getting any lighter.

Kosmo expects the Shamrocks to respond to last week’s loss with an impressive showing in its home opener. Kosmo Says: Catholic Central

• East Kentwood at Birmingham Brother Rice: The Warriors are trying to get back to an elite level and last week was a good start. Rice can add to that this week. Kosmo Says: Brother Rice
