Kosmo’s football predictions for Week 3

-

It’s a bittersweet week for Kosmo.

While high school football enters its third week and is now in full swing, this week marks the end of the Thursday and Friday gamedays.

Back-to-back prep football nights are Kosmo’s favorite time of year. A stomach full of popcorn and eyes full of Oakland County football is too good to pass up.

Still, this weekend provides a lot of great matchups for Kosmo to enjoy. With a little fall winds rolling in, football season has fully arrived.

Let’s get to the picks.

Clarkston at Stoney Creek: An interesting matchup of two 2-0teams. This is a big chance for Stoney Creek to really prove it is a contender again in 2021. The Wolves have looked dominant up front and that’s where Stoney Creek wants to win. Will it be the irresistible force vs. the immoveable object? Kosmo Says: Clarkston

Oak Park at Rochester Adams: Adams definitely made a big splash with the win over West Bloomfield in Week 1. The Highlanders can cement that they are for real this week against a talented Oak Park squad.

Kosmo Says: Adams

Birmingham Groves at North Farmington: A tough schedule for Groves doesn’t get any easier. North Farmington has been as impressive as anyone this season, with a very explosive offense.

Kosmo Says: North Farmington

Lake Orion at Southfield A&T: The Warriors showed their potential last week against Groves. Being at home against Lake Orion, Kosmo expects Southfield to build on that impressive win.

Birmingham Seaholm at Rochester: This is a big gut-check week for both teams, coming off some tough losses last weekend. The more physical team is likely to come out the winner.

Kosmo Says: Seaholm

Troy Athens at Farmington: Troy Athens hasn’t been 3-0 since 2000. The Red Hawks are scoring at a record-setting pace right now. Farmington is still making too many mistakes to stop them.

Kosmo Says: Troy Athens

Ferndale at Troy: The Colts haven’t allowed a point thus far in 2021. Troy can go 3-0for the first time since 1999. If their defense continues to shine, it should happen.

Kosmo Says: Troy

West Bloomfield at Oxford: The Lakers looked to get back in the groove last week, which isn’t a good thing for Oxford. The Wildcats have struggled to find their offensive flow thus far.

Kosmo Says: West Bloomfield

South Lyon East at Waterford Mott: The Corsairs are looking for a 3-0start, but East has not been an easy out. The Cougars look to be a little more battle-tested thus far. Kosmo Says: South Lyon East

Walled Lake Central at South Lyon: The Lions are playing as well as Kosmo has seen them. That’s going to make it tough for the Vikings to end their 19-game skid.

Kosmo Says: South Lyon

Berkley at Royal Oak: This is a big game, as the loser finds itself out of the OAA Blue race. Berkley looked to have found a spark last week and Kosmo likes the Bears to build on that.

Kosmo Says: Berkley

Clawson at Madison Heights Lamphere:

These two open up MAC Bronze play against each other. Kosmo likes the Rams at home, as their offense looks to be more explosive. Kosmo Says: Lamphere

Pontiac at Auburn Hills Avondale: Some
