Joyce Anna Frias of White Lake, Michigan passed away peacefully at her home on September 21 , 2021 at the age of 88. Joyce’s death was preceded by the passing of her husband Abelardo “Lefty” Frias who died in January 2020. Their marriage spanned 69 loving years

memories enjoying family gatherings, traveling and wintering for over thirty years in Southern Texas and Arizona. Joyce had a close relationsh­ip with her two children and will be greatly missed by both and their respective families. Her

daughter, Teresa (Gregory) Prokopp blessed Joyce with her two cherished granddaugh­ters, Christine (Matthew) Elliott and Lauren (Adam) Hengesbaug­h.

Joyce lived to enjoy her three great grandchild­ren, Jacob and Leah Elliott and Sydney Hengesbaug­h. Joyce will be missed by her son Eduardo (Mona) Frias who will always remember the many enjoyable times spent together while wintering in Arizona with family and friends and exploring the Southwest. Joyce is also survived by her sisters Mary Frances Clarkson of San Antonio, Texas and

Olivia (Dennis) Paramo of North Port, Michigan, and her brother David (Mary) Cervantes of Waterford, Michigan. In addition, she leaves many loving in - laws, nieces, nephews and dozens of God

children. Joyce retired from Pontiac Motors after 22 years of service as an executive assistant. Prior to her tenure at GM Joyce worked at the Pontiac Board of Education for many years. Soon after retiring from GM Joyce accepted the roll as personal assistant to Monsignor William Easton in preparatio­n of the Papal (John Paul II) mass at the Pontiac Silverdome in 1987. Joyce was a lifelong member of St. Frederick parochial school and alumni associatio­n. She was also an active member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish volunteeri­ng and participat­ing in a variety of parish functions. A funeral mass will be

held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 10:00a.m. at St. Damien of Molokai Parish – St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 46408 Woodward Avenue,

Pontiac, Michigan. The family will be present to receive guests at the church on Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the start of the funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. The family requests that normal COVID - 19 safety protocol be adhered to including face coverings inside the church. Your cooperatio­n will be appreciate­d. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to St. Damien of Molokai Parish - St. Vincent
