Oxford boys basketball squad opens with a victory

BOYS BASKETBALL OXFORD 50, ROMEO 43

The Oxford boys basketball team made their season debut on Tuesday night, traveling to Romeo.

The Wildcats picked up a 50-43 victory to start off 1-0.

Bryce Esman had 18 points to lead the Wildcats, while Alec Brown scored 12. LAKELAND 53, NOVI 35

The Lakeland boys basketball team moved to 2-0 on the season with a 53-35 win over Novi on Tuesday.

The Eagles had a balanced offensive attack, as Andrew Turnquist, Caleb Zurek and Caiden Carlson each scored 11 points. STONEY CREEK 50, SEAHOLM 34

The Stoney Creek boys basketball team defeated Birmingham Seaholm on Tuesday, 50-34.

John Chinonis had 11 points to lead the Maples, while Hunter Baldwin had seven.

Rochester picked up a 5339 win over Lake Orion on Tuesday night.

Alden Ritt had 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Dragons, while CJ Witt scored seven.

ADAMS 67, GROVES 41

Rochester Adams picked up a 67-41 win over Groves on Tuesday at home.

Gunner Walters led the

Highlander­s with 21 points and eight assists, while Brady Prieskorn had 17 points.

BLOOMFIELD HILLS 73, STEVENSON 40

The Bloomfield Hills boys basketball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 73-40 win over Stevenson on Tuesday.

Noah Adamczyk had 27 points and five assists to lead the Black Hawks in the

win. Derrick Lee Jr. added nine points.

MOTT 57, GROSSE POINTE SOUTH 45

Waterford Mott earned a 57-45 win over Grosse Pointe South on Tuesday night.

Juan Claudio had 23 points to lead the Corsairs in the win, while Kalieb Osborne had 10 points, six assists and eight rebounds. Jacoby Menyweathe­rs added 10 points and 10 rebounds. MADISON 46, OSBORN 31

Madison Heights Madison defeated Detroit Osborn on Tuesday night, 46-31. Desmond Denham led the Eagles with 15 points, four rebounds and two steals, while Damian Harvey had 16 points and five boards. SALEM 59, SL EAST 54

South Lyon East was edged by Salem on Tuesday night, 59-54.

Adam Jagacki had 22 points to lead the Cougars in the loss, while Jake Fannon had 10 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

ATHENS 45, FARMINGTON 41

The Troy Athens girls basketball team held on for a 45-41 win over Farmington on Tuesday.

Bekah Delia had 12 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Red Hawks (2-3), while CeCe Fay and Gillian Clark each had nine points and five rebounds.

Autumn Bartlett had 23 points to lead Farmington, while Brielle Burns scored 10.

LAKELAND 38, MOTT 22

The Lakeland girls basketball team earned a Lakes Valley Conference win over Waterford Mott on Tuesday, 38-22.

Molly Libby had 14 points to lead the Eagles, while Summer Ambler, Molly

Marino and Parker Ostach each had six.

Kelsey Palmer had nine points, eight rebounds and three steals to lead Mott. Zoe Nalepa added six points and five rebounds.

LAKE ORION 36, GROVES 26

The Lake Orion girls basketball team improved to 3-1 on the season with a 3626 win over Groves on Tuesday night.

Maddie Ebbert led the Dragons in the win with 11 points.

TROY 68, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 36

The Troy girls basketball team had a hot offensive night, picking up a 6836 win over Bloomfield Hills on Tuesday.

Kendal Zeiter had a triple-double in the win, while Charlotte Sobotka had 12 points.

SOUTH LYON EAST 57, MILFORD 27

South Lyon East continued its strong start to the season on Tuesday with a 57-27 win over Milford.

Ella Kruschka had 20 points to lead the Cougars.
