INGHAM, VICTOR HENRY

Victor Henry Ingham, of Troy and Oxford, Michon igan, passed away June 6, 2022 at the age of 84 from ALS. Born in East Detroit in 1937, he graduated from St. Rita’s Catholic School in 1955 and lived and worked his whole life in Michigan. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Margaret, his brother, William, and his brother-in-law, Charles Damico. Vic is survived by his wife of 58 years, Amy Carol Ingham, his daughter Amanda Eschendal, son Anthony Ingham, sister Eileen Damico, Brother Daniel Ingham, son-in-law Daniel Eschendal, daughter-in-law Debika Ingham sister-in-law Colleen Ingham, and grandchildren Tyler, Alexander and Monty. Vic is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and life-long friends, all of whom he loved with all his heart. Vic worked for over forty years at Earl C. Smith and Parker Motor Freight, holding many positions at both companies. He worked hard and loved jokes, card games, jazz, lottery tickets, cook the ing, gardening, and doing the cha-cha. He was family rock, kind and big-hearted, gregarious, and funny, with the biggest hands you’ve ever seen… that sometimes felt like he held the world in them. He always had a joke and a smile. He will be missed now and forever. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 12 from 1-6 p.m. with a Rosary service at 5 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home located at 2600 Crooks Rd (between Maple and Big Beaver), Troy, MI 48084, 248-362-2500. Instate Monday, June 13 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 3400 S Adams Rd, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. A memorial luncheon will follow the Mass at Grand Tavern located at 3512 Marketplace Cir, Rochester, MI 48309. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home or a memorial contribution can be made to Capuchin Soup Kitchen, Salvation Army, USO, St. Jude’s and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Vic’s honor.
