MOSHER (NEE ALA), MARY JEANNE “JEANNE”

-

MOSHER, Mary Jeanne (Jeanne) (nee Ala) was called home to be with her Lord June 21, 2022. Born October 12, 1926 in Bay City, Michigan to Emil and Selma Ala, Jeanne was the youngest of four daughters. As a young girl, she was very active playing tennis, swimming, dancing, playing the piano and singing. A favorite memory from her younger years was singing songs in 4-part harmony with her sisters while washing the dishes. When she was in her early 20’s Jeanne met the love of her life, Robert Mosher, on a trip up north with friends. Robert and Jeanne were wed on October 25, 1947, and enjoyed 58 wonderful years together. After starting their married life in Redford, Robert

and Jeanne moved their growing family to Sterling Heights, and lived out their remaining years in the home that Robert built for them. From their union came four children; Karen (Donald) Rowan Sr., Susan (Keith) Hall, Robert (Jennifer) Mosher Jr., and Karl (Michele) Mosher; eight grandchildren, Kristin Rowan, Donald Rowan Jr, Daniel Rowan, Sarah Hendrick, Katherine Foster, David Mosher, Thomas Mosher, and Grace Mosher; and two greatgranddaughters, Alexandra and Amelia Hendrick. Jeanne was preceded in death by Robert in 2005. Jeanne was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica, Michigan where she was involved in the Adult Choir and Women’s Choir and performing as a soloist for special occasions, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and the Golden Circle. For a time, she even taught the children’s choir at Trinity’s day school. Jeanne was always active outdoors and particularly enjoyed gardening. She could often be found puttering around

the backyard garden, tending to her perennials and

slowing down she was determined to keep going, proclaiming it was her Finnish ‘sisu’ that allowed her to go on. She was a woman of tremendous faith - a faith that would sustain her through her toughest times, and one she would freely share and pass down to her family. Her answer to almost everything was prayer. Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 3-7 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 Blks E. of Van Dyke) Utica. Her funeral service will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church, 45160 Van Dyke Ave, Utica on Friday, June 24, 2022 where she will lie instate at 10:30 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Interment Utica Cemetery.
