A new charge was added Tuesday for one of four people connected to a 2021 robbery and murder in Pontiac.

At a pretrial hearing that earlier had been scheduled for a sentencing hearing, Torrion Wilson, 18, pleaded guilty to the added charge of assault with intent to commit robbery. One count of unarmed robbery that was recently added was dismissed.

Last month, prosecutors dropped charges of first-degree homicide, armed robbery and two counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony that Wilson had faced for the Nov. 14, 2021 incident in Pontiac that left Maliek Gilmore dead. Gilmore, 22, was fatally shot during a purported drug deal.

Wilson’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for Feb. 21 before Oakland County Circuit Judge Cheryl Matthews.

Co-defendants in the case were Eric Burrell, 17, Demetrious Brox, 21, and Jennifer Wilson, the mother of Burrell and Brox. Burrell was sentenced Monday to 23-50 years for second-degree homicide and two additional years for possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony which he pleaded no contest to in January. Charges of first-degree homicide, armed robbery and a second count of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony were dismissed.

Also on Monday, Brox was sentenced to 11-14 years for armed robbery, which he pleaded no contest to last month. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dismissed charges of homicide and two counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Jennifer Wilson pleaded no contest last November to being an accessory after the fact, accused accused of driving Burrell, Brox and Torrion Wilson out of the area to hide them so they could avoid arrest. The three were subsequently located in the Saginaw area and taken into custody. On Jan. 17, Matthews sentenced Jennifer Wilson to six days in jail with credit for six days served, and 12 months probation.
