Leon Von Appen, Noble: A foreign exchange student from Germany, Von Appen has the Bears off to a 5-2 start, easily improving on a one-win 2014 campaign. He capped a strong week with a hat trick in a 3-2 win Tuesday over Del City.
GIRLS SOCCER
Kylie Pyle, Piedmont: Pyle scored nearly half of her goals in one game last week, netting four in a rout of Western Heights. She also had five assists as the Wildcats went 5-0 and won the Deer Creek Invitational.

Kingfisher: The junior who is committed to Arkansas won his second straight tournament, running away from the field of players from larger schools to win the Enid Invitational on Monday. Overstreet shot 69-68 to win by 10 strokes. His 72 won the Dickson Invitational by four shots
on Thursday.

Purcell: The freshman had quite a week, capped off by her round of 1-under-par 70 at the Plainview Invitational, which led Purcell to a team victory and a school-record team score of 293. Scarberry tied for first at the Dickson Invitational, winning a scorecard playoff over teammate Ashton Nemecek on Thursday. And on Saturday, she stepped away from team play to win the OJGT Southlakes Invitational by five shots with a 36-hole total of even-par 142.
BOYS TRACK
Braeden James, Dibble: Competing against a field of almost exclusively Class 6A runners, James won the 110-meter hurdles at Norman’s Gregg Byram Classic on Saturday. He won with a time of 16.26.
GIRLS TRACK
Kaley Knox, Bethany: The sprinter picked up a pair of individual gold medals at her school’s event, the 54th annual Bethany Invitational, which drew several large-school competitors. Knox won the 100 meters in 12.57 and the 400 in 1:01.03.
BOYS TENNIS
Brody Swan and Jack
Kaiser, Heritage Hall: The Chargers’ No. 2 doubles team defeated Cascia Hall in the finals of Heritage Hall’s Tournament of Champions to help the Chargers to the team championship. Swan, a senior, and Kaiser, a sophomore, are undefeated in 11 matches this season.

Jaci Smith, Edmond
North: The senior, who doubles as a distance runner on the track team, won No. 2 singles at the Heritage Hall Tournament of Champions to lead Edmond North to the team title.
SLOWPITCH SOFTBALL
Kailee Orr, Washington: Orr went 14 for 19 over the past seven games, hitting three home runs and driving in 14 runs to help the Warriors remain undefeated.
