Putnam City teacher job fair set Tuesday
Graduating education students, certified teachers from other districts and professionals in other fields who are thinking of changing careers are invited to the Putnam City Schools teacher job fair from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the district administration building, 5401 NW 40.
April Grace, assistant superintendent for human resources, said the district next year will need teachers in a wide range of grade levels and subject areas to replace teachers who retire or move on. She said the district also will have openings for counselors, library media specialists and other positions.
Teachers who attend will have a chance to sit down for a job interview with a school principal and visit with administrators from schools throughout the district.
Information about Putnam City’s salaries and benefits also will be readily available.
No registration is required, but for prospective teachers who want to make sure they have an interview at a time that works best for their schedule, the district created an interview scheduler at www.putnamcityschools. org/JobApp/index.php.
“Our job fair is a place prospective teachers can explore possibilities with the district and meet people who can hire them. They can talk with administrators about extensive new teacher training, our mentoring program, the professional learning communities in which our teachers work and many other ways we help teachers succeed,” Grace said.
