•OKLAHOMA COUNTY MASTER
GARDENER CLASS, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays in September, October and November at the Oklahoma County Extension Office, 2500 NE 63. Last day to register is May 6. Mandatory orientation meeting is 10 a.m. to noon May 24 or 1 to 3 p.m. May 26. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and an interest in gardening and becoming a volunteer. Background checks will be conducted for all applicants. Following training, there will be a 60-hour internship at the Oklahoma County OSU Extension Center, answering home horticulture related questions by phone or office visits. Lunches are not provided. •CLEVELAND COUNTY MASTER GARDENER CLASSES, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays, Aug. 5 to Nov. 4 at Cleveland County Cooperative Extension Service, Cleveland County Fairgrounds, 601 E Robinson, Norman. Topics include gardening trends regarding botany, vegetable gardening, disease and insect control, trees, shrubs, fruit, fertilizing, lawn care and more. Cost is $100 per person, which includes a soil test, educational manuals and research-based information provided by the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service.
