•OKLAHOMA COUNTY MASTER

GARDENER CLASS, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays in September, October and November at the Oklahoma County Extension Office, 2500 NE 63. Last day to register is May 6. Mandatory orientatio­n meeting is 10 a.m. to noon May 24 or 1 to 3 p.m. May 26. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and an interest in gardening and becoming a volunteer. Background checks will be conducted for all applicants. Following training, there will be a 60-hour internship at the Oklahoma County OSU Extension Center, answering home horticultu­re related questions by phone or office visits. Lunches are not provided. Fee is $150 and is nonrefunda­ble. Registrati­on may be mailed to OSU Oklahoma County Extension Office at 2500 NE 63 St., Oklahoma City, OK 73111.

•CLEVELAND COUNTY MASTER GARDENER CLASSES, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays, Aug. 5 to Nov. 4 at Cleveland County Cooperativ­e Extension Service, Cleveland County Fairground­s, 601 E Robinson, Norman. Topics include gardening trends regarding botany, vegetable gardening, disease and insect control, trees, shrubs, fruit, fertilizin­g, lawn care and more. Cost is $100 per person, which includes a soil test, educationa­l manuals and research-based informatio­n provided by the Oklahoma Cooperativ­e Extension Service.
