Youth baseball team wins series

The 10 and under AAA Oklahoma Outlaws baseball team traveled to Dallas for the 2016 Dallas-Fort Worth United States Specialty Sports Associatio­n World Series, July 7-12.

They competed against 32 teams from four states in their age division, and went undefeated 6-0 in a tough undivided bracket to win the championsh­ip.

The team brought back championsh­ip rings, crystal trophies, a championsh­ip team belt, as well as offensive most valuable player and all-around most valuable player of the game awards.

The Oklahoma Outlaws are from the Oklahoma City metro area and compete all over the state.

The Outlaws put 478 runs on the board this year while maintainin­g a team batting average of just under .500. The Outlaws’ record for the 2016 season was 48-12-1.
