The inaugural Sooner Sports Experience, a new hands-on fan event, will be held Aug. 4 at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.

The event features the usual Sooner Caravan activities plus an interactive format that will allow fans access to OU head coaches and players.

The come-and-go event will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Cox Pavilion and will be limited to 1,000 tickets sold. Fans will be able to “engage in athletic activities” with student-athletes from most Sooners sports.

Tickets are $25 for adults and are free for kids 12 and under. They can be purchased at SoonerSports. com or by phone at (405) 325-8000. If tickets remain at the time of the event, they will be available at the door.

Football coach Bob Stoops, men’s basketball coach Lon Kruger and women’s basketball coach Sherri Coale will sign autographs beginning at approximately 6:30 p.m. The three, plus several current Sooners athletes will address the gathering as well.

Hot dogs, hamburgers, pulled pork and snow cones will be available for purchase. The event will also feature a behind-the-scenes tour of the SoonerVision production truck and gameday set.

Free parking will be available near the Cox Pavilion, with complimentary shuttle service from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
