- FROM STAFF REPORTS

The New Orleans Zephyrs avoided a four-game sweep Monday night by bouncing the Oklahoma City Dodgers 9-3 in Pacific Coast League baseball before 4,516 fans at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Dodgers (58-43) had the bases loaded with one out in the ninth inning when it started to rain. Umpires called the game complete about 30 minutes after the tarp was rolled out.

Tomas Telis had four hits, and Matt Juengel added three for the Zephyrs. Xavier Scruggs added a three-run homer in the second inning to help New Orleans charge to a 7-0 lead.

The Dodgers finished with 10 hits, including two each from Drew Maggi, Rob Segedin, Will Venable and O’Koyea Dickson.

Oklahoma City begins an eight-game road trip at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at Memphis. The Dodgers will play four games against the Redbirds, then four at Colorado Springs before returning to The Brick on Aug. 3.
